About Me

Hi, I’m Shanelle.

I’m a wife, mum of two, and an award-winning photographer based in Upper Hutt, Wellington.

When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll usually find me renovating our home, spending time outdoors with my family, working in the garden, or convincing myself that cleaning counts as a hobby!

I started my photography journey in 2016, and what began as a passion has grown into a career I truly love.

Since then, I’ve had the privilege of photographing hundreds of incredible families, children and individuals. One of my greatest joys is watching families grow over the years and being trusted to capture the moments that become part of their story.

Alongside my portrait work, I also work with Resene, creating commercial photography for magazines, marketing campaigns, and photography featured on Resene paint cans. Working across both commercial and portrait photography has strengthened my eye for detail, lighting and storytelling.

Outside of photography, giving back to my community is something I’m deeply passionate about. I volunteer as a primary school netball and touch rugby coach, helping young people build confidence, teamwork and a love of sport.

I also donate several photography sessions each year to families facing terminal illness, providing them with beautiful memories to treasure during an incredibly difficult time.

My approach is relaxed, genuine and connection-focused. I want your session to feel fun and natural, creating beautiful images that reflect who you are rather than forced smiles or awkward poses.

Alongside family photography, I have a passion for creating fine art portraits that have been recognised in national and international photography competitions. The same attention to lighting, detail and storytelling is something I bring to every session, whether I’m photographing your family, your children or creating a timeless portrait you’ll treasure for generations.

Photography is so much more than taking pictures—it’s about preserving memories, celebrating the people you love, and creating artwork that will still mean something decades from now.
